The beauty of God's world is explored in this weekly, one hour class which is appropriate for 6th through 9th graders. Students will investigate a broad range of non-life science topics. This will include chemistry (structure and interactions of matter and defining various chemical and nonchemical combinations of matter), earth science (space, weather, atmosphere, etc.) and elementary physics (forms of energy, mechanics, electro-magnetics, wave theory, and optics). Though there is assigned reading, this class is taught with a hands-on approach which has the students investigating things that are read about. Some of the activities that may be done in class will include: releasing balloons to test the upper air currents, making their own weather stations, and making rockets and launching them.
